By 2035, it is planned to attract 4.8 trillion tenge of investment in the chemical and petrochemical industries of Kazakhstan,El.kz reports citing primeminister.kz.
At a government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Minister Yersayin Nagaspaev noted that 49 projects are currently being implemented in the chemical industry. The main focus is on the production of chemical components used in related sectors, including oil production, metallurgy and construction.
Examples of such products are caustic soda, acids, fertilizers and catalysts, most of which are already used by domestic enterprises. In addition, the country has a significant reserve of raw materials - phosphorites, potassium salts, sulfur, gas and oil, which creates prerequisites for the localization of new industries.
Also at the meeting, Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov said that within the framework of the Roadmap for the development of the petrochemical industry for 2024-2030, it is planned to build six large investment projects worth about $15 billion. According to him, the implementation of these projects will lead to the creation of 16 thousand temporary jobs at the construction stage and more than 3.5 thousand permanent jobs after the launch of production.
The government emphasizes that the integrated development of the chemical and petrochemical industries is one of the key areas of industrialization and increasing the country's economic stability.
