Kazakhstan peacekeeping contingent in Golan Heights: six months of successful service
Kazakh military personnel have been carrying out a peacekeeping mission in the Golan Heights for six months as part of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF, El.kz reports.
The contingent of 139 military personnel is provided with modern weapons, equipment, medical support. The commander of the contingent noted that the main task of the Kazakh contingent is to serve as a rapid reaction group. This includes evacuating UN staff, providing first aid and reinforcing peacekeeping bases in case of danger.
In six months, the peacekeepers underwent three inspections, two of which concerned the technical condition of equipment brought from Kazakhstan, and one - the assessment of operational readiness. All checks were successfully passed, which confirms their readiness to perform the assigned tasks.
The service of Kazakh peacekeepers in the Golan Heights will become an important chapter in the history of Kazakhstan's international peacekeeping activities.
