The Speedtest Global Index service has published the results for the second half of 2025, assessing average mobile and fixed internet speeds in 150 cities across 104 countries. Kazakhstan improved its position and ranked 45th in the global rating, El.kz reports.

Mobile Internet: Kazakhstan ahead of Japan

Kazakhstan rose by two positions in mobile internet speed. The country’s average download speed reached 94.54 Mbps, allowing it to surpass Japan, which ranked 64th with 53.54 Mbps.

In the city ranking, both the capital and the major metropolis showed strong results:

Astana -132.13 Mbps (62nd place)

Almaty - 130.72 Mbps (63rd place)

For comparison, Tokyo ranked 94th.
