In order to discuss the progress of trade, economic and investment projects between Kazakhstan and Qatar, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Doha organized a meeting with the heads of leading Qatari companies in the construction, energy, agriculture and tourism sectors, El.kz cites MFA.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar, Arman Issagaliyev, in his speech informed Qatari businessmen about the largest events organized as part of building up bilateral partnerships this year and introduced new opportunities in Kazakhstan for foreign business.

In this regard, Kazakh diplomat noted that Kazakhstan and Qatar have taken a number of important measures aimed at increasing the volume of mutual trade and investment, as well as the further development of the legal framework by signing an intergovernmental agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments. In addition, Ambassador Issagaliyev highlighted that in 2023, the leaders of the two states met three times, which demonstrates a high level of relations and indicates a mutual desire to develop a strategic partnership.

During the meeting, the heads of Qatari companies that have launched a number of investment projects in Kazakhstan shared their experience of working in Kazakhstan and spoke about the favorable investment climate in the country. In particular, the meeting participants noted the rapid development of the construction sector, great potential in the field of agriculture and achievements in information technology in Kazakhstan.

Following the meeting, Qatari companies interested in implementing new projects in Kazakhstan were provided with detailed information about the country’s legislation, tax system, transport and logistics areas and a number of other organizational issues.
