Kazakhstan increases exports to $40.6 billion

At the end of 2024, the export of goods and services from Kazakhstan reached $40.6 billion, which is 11% more than a year earlier, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"The growth was the result of a consistent policy to strengthen export activity, diversify supplies and expand foreign economic partnership. A significant contribution to the dynamics was provided by the development of priority export markets, taking into account the integration of transport corridors and the creation of conditions for the accelerated entry of Kazakh goods into foreign markets," the press service of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
Particular attention in 2024 was paid to increasing trade with China.
"The central place in the strategy was occupied by China, a key trading partner and a country with a high demand for high value-added products. The format of regionalization of cooperation with individual provinces of the PRC is already showing significant results. In 2024, a multiple increase in trade with a number of regions was recorded: the volume of trade with Shanxi Province increased by 11.5 times, with Yunnan - by 9 times, exports to Sichuan increased by 49%, to Shanghai - by 3.6 times. Deliveries to these directions provided the bulk of the increase in non-resource exports," the ministry stressed.
Among the export destinations, the EAEU countries also stand out, especially Russia, with which close logistics and economic ties are maintained.
"Kazakhstan is also strengthening its position in the markets of the EAEU and Central Asia. At the end of 2024, the Russian Federation remains the largest market for non-commodity goods with exports of $8.1 billion. The second largest destination was China with an indicator of $7.19 billion, there is an active growth in the supply of metallurgical, chemical and food products. An additional impetus to cooperation is given by the opening of a trade representative office of QazTrade in Urumqi and the development of export infrastructure in Nanjing," the press service of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
