Kazakhstan emphasizes Its strategic role at meeting with American businesses
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted a roundtable featuring American business leaders and members of the U.S.-Kazakhstan Business Council (USKZBC) to discuss the results of the joint work over the past year, El.kz cites MFA.
Participants noted a significant increase in bilateral trade, which reached 3.3 billion US dollars in the first nine months of 2024, marking a record high for the past four years.
Special attention was given to the importance of enhancing investment partnerships in sectors such as logistics, agriculture, infrastructure, information technology, and energy.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the U.S., Yerzhan Ashikbayev showcased Kazakhstan’s extensive investment opportunities, highlighting tax incentives and advancements in digitalizing tax administration to ensure greater transparency. He highlighted successful high-level mutual visits, U.S. trade missions to Kazakhstan, and the launch of new dialogue platforms such as “B5+1.”
The Ambassador also emphasized Kazakhstan's growing fintech ecosystem, underlining the country’s leadership in digital transformation and cashless financial transactions.
American business representatives acknowledged Kazakhstan's pivotal role as a stabilizing force in the region and commended its transport and logistics potential, particularly within the Middle Corridor framework. They also recognized the upcoming launch of direct flights between Kazakhstan and the United States as a landmark event that promises to enhance economic and cultural ties between the two nations.
The roundtable concluded with a dynamic Q&A session, delving into Kazakhstan’s steady oil production under OPEC+ quotas, its thriving fintech ecosystem, and its robust transport and logistics infrastructure.
