Kazakhstan chairs Meeting of Ministers of Justice of SCO Member States
Today, the Tenth Meeting of Ministers of Justice of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in Shanghai, China. As part of this event, Kazakhstan took over the chairmanship of the Meeting of Ministers of Justice of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Among the participants of the Meeting were Chen Wenqing, Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Commission of the People's Republic of China; Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and representatives of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan, Azamat Yeskaraev, stressed the importance of the priority areas identified by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan during Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. These areas, including the fight against transnational organized crime, drug trafficking and cybercrime, are of strategic importance for all member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The Minister also stressed that the chairmanship of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Meeting of Ministers of Justice will play a significant role in the development and strengthening of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The participants discussed innovations in the work of the Ministries of Justice, expressed the need for further development of legal services and forensic activities, and agreed to hold the next Meeting in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the Tenth Meeting, a Joint Statement of the Ministers of Justice of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was signed. The Kazakh delegation held bilateral and multilateral meetings with representatives of the Ministries of Justice of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to discuss cooperation and development.
