Kazakhstan celebrates Navy Day
This year, the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan celebrate another date - the 31st anniversary of its creation. On April 2, 1993, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a historic decree that laid the foundation for the formation of the Navy as an independent branch of the country's armed forces. The Navy was finally approved as a separate branch of the armed forces by a presidential decree of May 7, 2003,El.kz reports.
Over the years, the Kazakh Navy has carried out important tasks aimed at ensuring the security of the state border and protecting strategic facilities, including port zones and oil and gas fields in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea. The Navy is also actively involved in navigational and hydrographic safety and is involved in search and rescue operations in emergency situations.
The Kazakh Navy is armed with modern ships and weapons, including domestic and foreign production, which reflects the latest achievements in the field of marine equipment. The ships are commanded by officers trained in the world's leading military schools. The Kazakh Navy demonstrates its skills by participating in republican exercises and international competitions.
As noted in the Ministry of Defense, service in the Navy involves high professionalism, dedication and fortitude.
