The international forum Digital Bridge 2025: Generative Nation kicked off in Astana, the region’s key platform for discussing artificial intelligence and digital transformation, El.kz reports.

Strategy for AI Talent Development

Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek delivered a report at the meeting, presenting a strategy for the comprehensive development of the country’s human and research potential.

According to him, all universities in Kazakhstan have already introduced a mandatory course on artificial intelligence, launched dozens of new educational programs, and are actively implementing the national AI-Sana initiative. The Minister emphasized that both students and faculty members are not only studying modern technologies but also participating in the development of innovative AI-based solutions.

Special attention is also being given to the promotion of the Kazakh language in the digital era. Universities and research centers are working on creating language models that integrate the state language into modern digital ecosystems.

From e-gov to AI-gov

The forum program is rich in expert discussions. Of particular interest was the third meeting of the independent analytical platform Astana Open Dialogue, where participants discussed the topic: “Kazakhstan on the Path from e-gov to AI-gov: How to Make a Breakthrough?”

Experts, government officials, and business representatives spoke about the prospects of transitioning to next-generation governance, where artificial intelligence will play a key role in improving the efficiency of public services, accelerating decision-making, and creating more user-friendly services for citizens.

International Discussion on the AI-Sana Program

Another major event was the panel session of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education: “AI-Sana: A Driver of AI Transformation in Higher Education.”

The discussion focused on the role of the AI-Sana program in training a new generation of specialists, developing digital entrepreneurship, and integrating international expertise into Kazakhstan’s education system.

According to participants, such initiatives are shaping the talent base for future technological breakthroughs.
