The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has developed and approved the "Roadmap for the Development of the Petrochemical Industry for 2024-2030", aimed at developing the industry from the supply of raw materials to the production of finished products, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The document is focused on actively promoting the implementation of significant projects and increasing production volumes.

In accordance with the provisions of the Roadmap, by 2030, it is expected to increase the production of petrochemical products from 357.8 thousand tons in 2023 to 1.8 million tons. To achieve this goal, it is planned to provide existing and new projects with the necessary raw materials, as well as attract significant investments.

Within the framework of the program, it is planned to implement six large-scale projects worth about 14.7 billion US dollars of investments. These projects will create about 3,500 permanent and 16,000 temporary jobs, which will have a positive impact on the labor market and the country's economy as a whole.

In addition, within the framework of the program, infrastructure will be built on the territory of the special economic zone "National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark" to support projects in the field of petrochemistry. The program is also aimed at providing the domestic market and stimulating the consumption of products within the country.

To support the long-term development of the industry, measures are envisaged to improve the scientific base, improve human capital, as well as develop and implement the necessary regulatory and technical documents.
