Kazakhstan approves new law to regulate work of Yandex.Taxi and Glovo services
In Kazakhstan, a new law has been passed that regulates the activities of workers employed through platforms such as Yandex.Taxi and Glovo. This was announced by the deputy of the Majilis Askhat Aimagambetov, El.kz reports.
There were several discussions at the meetings of our committee. Now these workers are required to transfer a total of four percent of their payments, including one percent to the pension fund, one percent to the social insurance fund, one percent to the health insurance fund and one percent in the form of tax to the budget (with the possibility of transferring higher percentages at will)," the former minister said.
The law provides for the introduction of a special tax regime for Internet platforms, allowing the automatic transfer of taxes and contributions from the income of private entrepreneurs, which will facilitate accounting and administration for employees of such services.
It is expected that thanks to these changes, workers employed through Yandex.Taxi and Glovo will be able to get out of the shadow economy and receive social guarantees, such as health insurance, maternity payments and other services financed through the payment of taxes and social contributions.
