Kazakhstan and Thailand extend visa-free regime

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has prepared a draft resolution on the entry into force of the agreement with Thailand regarding the visa regime, El.kz reports.

The agreement provides for an exemption from visa requirements for citizens of Kazakhstan and Thailand who have national passports valid for at least six months. Holders of such passports will be able to visit the country of the other party without a visa for up to 30 consecutive days and no more than 90 days during each six months. If you plan to stay more than 30 days, you will need to apply for a visa.

The agreement was signed on April 23, 2024 in Bangkok by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu and Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. For the agreement to enter into force, it must be approved by the governments of both countries and enters into force 30 days after receiving the last notification of the completion of domestic procedures

"The agreement is aimed at strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Thailand and simplifying the visa regime for holders of national passports," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
