Kazakhstan and Slovakia interested in expanding trade and economic cooperation
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Tolezhan Barlybayev visited the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met with Chairman Peter Mihók to discuss the state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation, El.kz cites MFA.
During the conversation, the Ambassador spoke about the current situation in Kazakhstan, the state of the Kazakh economy and the tasks set by the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the Government of Kazakhstan. The economic growth of Kazakhstan by 3.1% last year was noted, as well as the significant investment potential of Kazakhstan, along with wide opportunities for bilateral cooperation. A steady growth trend in mutual trade between Kazakhstan and Slovakia was emphasized, the volume of which increased by 43% in 2022 and exceeded 120 million US dollars. At the same time, the necessity of expanding the structure of trade turnover and overcoming the negative balance in trade by increasing the export of Kazakh products to Slovakia was stated.
Chairman Mihók expressed his readiness to promote the development of trade and economic cooperation, noting the great potential of the Kazakhstan market, as well as the interest of the Slovak business in developing business ties with Kazakhstan.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the joint organization of round tables and presentations on the economic and investment potential of Kazakhstan in the capital and regions of Slovakia, as well as the establishment of a regular exchange of information on the possibilities of implementing business projects.
