Kazakhstan and Singapore discuss agreement in field of legal assistance
This became known in Astana during the meeting of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azamat Yeskaraev with the Minister of Internal Affairs - Minister of Justice of the Republic of Singapore Mr. Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"To date, there are no bilateral agreements between Kazakhstan and Singapore in the field of legal assistance in civil cases. In this regard, I propose to consider the possibility of concluding a separate international treaty that will contribute to the expansion of our cooperation on the protection of human rights in the framework of civil procedural proceedings," said the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azamat Yeskaraev.
Mr. Shanmugam expressed his readiness to discuss the details of the agreement.
It should be noted that in recent years, due to the growth of international migration, more and more requests have been received from Kazakhstanis to assist in providing legal assistance in civil cases in the Republic of Singapore.
In addition, during the meeting, the delegation of Singapore got acquainted with the activities of the domestic institute of intellectual property, where QAZPATENT specialists presented the key areas of the organization's work to foreign guests.
In turn, Mr. Shanmugam expressed interest in considering the issue of concluding a memorandum in the field of intellectual property, and also invited the Kazakh side to take part in the exchange of experience in arbitration.
