Today Ministries of Energy of Kazakhstan and Russia signed an agreement on the construction of thermal power plants in Kokshetau, Semei, and Ust-Kamenogorsk cities, El.kz reports.
"The implementation of three new thermal power plants in three regional centers - Semey, Kokshetau and Ust-Kamenogorsk, taking into account the vast reserves of thermal coal, will give a powerful impetus to their further development," said the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev.
Samruk Energy JSC already developed a roadmap for the construction of the first power station this year.
