Kazakhstan and Moldova expand bilateral cooperation in agricultural sector
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Moldova Almat Aidarbekov met with the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova Ludmila Catlabuga, El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting, the Kazakh Ambassador congratulated the Minister on her appointment and expressed his readiness to cooperate in fostering mutually beneficial cooperation in the agricultural sector. The two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of holding an intergovernmental commission in 2025. In the context of the significant potential for increasing trade turnover, Ambassador Aidarbekov also informed the Minister about the establishment of the Kazakh-Moldovan Business Council.
In turn, Minister Catlabuga presented her Ministry’s priorities, highlighting a strong interest in developing the livestock sector, restoring irrigation systems, and ensuring food safety. The importance of increasing collaboration between scientific institutes on the development of major crops, such as wheat, as well as supporting vegetable farming and winemaking, was also discussed.
Both parties expressed their commitment to furthering cooperation and agreed to maintain regular working contacts.
