Kazakhstan and China negotiate on dividing water of transboundary rivers

The document is being developed by a joint working group, which includes specialists from the two countries, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported,El.kz reports.

The main task in the development of the agreement is to ensure the supply of a volume of water that guarantees the preservation of Lake Balkhash at an optimal level.

"The ministry pays great attention to providing Lake Balkhash with the necessary volume of water. Since the beginning of the year, more than 12 billion cubic meters of water have been sent to the lake," said said ministry spokeswoman Moldir Abdualieva.
