Kazakhstan and Canada are in favour of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Umarov received the Ambassador of Canada to Kazakhstan Alan Hamson, El.kz cites MFA.

During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the development of bilateral multifaceted cooperation.

Canada is among the top 15 foreign investors in Kazakhstan. Since 2005, the gross volume of foreign direct investment from Canada to Kazakhstan has amounted to more than 5.5 billion US dollars. There is dynamics of the growth of bilateral trade. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Canada in 2022 amounted to 836.6 million US dollars, which is 68.8 percent more than a year earlier.

In revealing the significant potential of investment, trade and economic cooperation, participants of the meeting highlighted the importance of further improvement of the favorable conditions for business representatives of the two countries. New opportunities in the cultural and educational sphere were also considered.
