Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan plan to increase trade turnover
The SPECA program, which unites 7 countries of the Central Asian region, has been contributing to the strengthening of economic ties for 25 years. Trade is one of the main areas, El.kz reports citing Ministry of Trade and Integration.
According to QazTrade, the trade turnover with the countries that were united by the UN Special Program increased by 32% at once and amounted to 9 billion 200 million dollars.
"Baku-Aktau is the main connecting bridge in this large economic corridor. Not only for Kazakhstan, but also for transit cargo from China and Central Asian countries. We see that our trade is growing every year. Experts believe that a doubling of trade between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the medium term is achievable.
We see trade not only in raw materials, but also in food," said Nurlan Kulbatyrov, Deputy General Director of QazTrade, in an interview with the Azerbaijani TV channel.
