Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan implement Baku Declaration
The 19th meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Baku, El.kz news agency reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.
The main topic of the meeting was the interaction of the two countries in the transport industry. In particular, the participants discussed issues of strengthening the potential and expanding cooperation on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), as well as increasing the volume of intermodal rail freight in the directions of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan-Turkey/Europe-Kazakhstan in transit through Azerbaijan.
The sides expressed their commitment and need for the speedy implementation of the Baku Declaration and the Roadmap for the Synchronous Elimination of Bottlenecks in Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan and the Development of TITR for 2022-2027.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almaz Idyrysov took part in the discussion of these issues, he made a report on the results and prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the field of transport and logistics.
Also within the framework of the IGC, a bilateral meeting of the co-chairs was held, where the parties discussed the issues of the permissive system of transit road transport, the port capabilities of both countries, as well as the development of transport corridors.
