Kazakh folk dance to include in UNESCO list
The Kazakh folk dance "Or Teke" can be included in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of Astana Ballet Theater.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and experts of the National Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage under the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO are working to include the Kazakh folk dance "Or Teke" in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity of UNESCO.
Kazakh folk dance "Or Teke" has three options: puppet, choral-playing, solo. When performing a puppet version of the dance, a puppet depicting a goat is attached by the middle of the torso to a small place that is installed on the table.
The figure is positioned so that the hooves do not touch the surface. Threads from parts of the puppet's body are passed through holes in the table lid and tied to the fingers of the left hand of the dombrist sitting next to the table.
