Kazakh university wins international grant to develop AI in inclusive education

University South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University named after Uzbekali Zhanibekov has received a grant from the CAREC Institute (Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation) in the field of artificial intelligence. Winning this international competition highlights the strong scientific potential of the Kazakh university and opens new opportunities for collaboration in digital and inclusive education, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.
The university hosted an international conference titled “Using Artificial Intelligence for Inclusive Education: A Scalable Model for the CAREC Region”, organized jointly with the CAREC Institute. During the event, international experts highly praised the university’s initiatives in digital transformation and the integration of inclusive approaches into the educational process.
Participants paid special attention to the use of artificial intelligence in pedagogy, the development of intelligent learning systems, and the expansion of inter-university scientific cooperation. According to the organizers, such projects help ensure equal access to quality education and enhance its effectiveness across Central Asian countries.
Today, Zhanibekov University is actively implementing modern educational programs based on the principles of inclusivity and digitalization. A new course, “Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Educational Process,” has been introduced for all third-year students, enabling future teachers to acquire skills in using AI for teaching and learning.
Building on the ideas and experience of international experts from the U.S., Europe, and Central Asia, a regional roadmap is planned for the integration of artificial intelligence into inclusive education systems. This document will mark a new step in modernizing the educational landscape across the CAREC region and strengthen the position of the Kazakh university as an innovative leader in pedagogy and technology.
