Kazakh schoolchildren win 424 medals at international Olympiads in 2023-2024
In the 2023-2024 academic year, Kazakhstani schoolchildren achieved impressive success at international Olympiads, winning a total of 424 medals, of which 50 are gold, 158 silver and 216 bronze. These achievements confirm the high level of training of students and their recognition on the world stage, El.kz reports.
On behalf of the Head of State, from 2022, state support is provided for winners and prize-winners of international Olympiads. As part of this program, winners of seven prestigious world Olympiads, as well as their teachers, receive one-time rewards.
The teachers who prepared the winners and prize-winners are issued certificates indicating remuneration, which ranges from 8.5 to 26.5 times the base salary, depending on the level of their apprentices' awards.
Among the most significant achievements of Kazakhstani schoolchildren:
At the International Chemistry Olympiad IChO-2024 in Saudi Arabia, the Kazakh team won two gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
At the International Physics Olympiad IPHO-2024 in Iran, the team of Kazakhstan received four silver and one bronze medals.
The Kazakh national team showed a high result at the International Biological Olympiad IBO-2024 in Astana, winning four bronze medals.
At the International Economics Olympiad IEO-2024 in Hong Kong, Kazakh schoolchildren received five medals.
At the International Mathematical Olympiad IMO-2024, the Kazakh team won five medals.
At the ISPHO International Science Olympiad in Russia, Kazakh schoolchildren received five medals, including two gold.
At the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad JBMO, the Kazakh team showed a 100% result.
These achievements testify to Kazakhstan's desire to develop and support talented schoolchildren who represent the country in the international arena.
