The study of AI will be integrated into Kazakhstan’s school curriculum starting this September, El.kz reports citing Minister of Enlightenment Gani Beissembayev.

According to the minister, elements of artificial intelligence will be included in the “Digital Literacy” and “Informatics” courses.

Ethical standards have been approved for this purpose, and online courses have been developed for students in grades 1–11.

Training programs will also be held for teachers so they can effectively implement new technologies into the learning process.

Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek noted that specially designed AI agents are already being used in colleges and universities to assist students in their studies.

As part of the program, all students take a basic course on artificial intelligence — around 390,000 people have already completed it.

According to government representatives, the introduction of AI into education is expected to improve digital literacy, prepare young people for future professions, and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position in technological innovation.
