Kazakh producer wins European award for his debut film
Young Kazakh producer Maxim Akbarov received an important European film award, El.kz reports.
"Yesterday in Spain I won my first Director's Award at the Calella Film Festival @calellafilmfestival near Barcelona. For the director, this is the main award, more important than the 'Best film'," Maxim Akbarov wrote on his Facebook.
The story of the inspectors of nature protection, who entered into a life-and-death struggle with poachers, is dedicated to the memory of real heroes - Yerlan Nurgaliyev and Kanysh Nurtazinov. The director of photography here was Sherkhan Tansykbaev, who did an excellent job on the film "Brothers".
I am glad for this nomination and the prize. Because 'STEPPE' is my debut film. And we filmed it as a social project in memory of the fallen inspectors, nature conservationists, and the film is marked around the world!" wrote Akbarov.
