Kazakh Prime Minister instructs to revise Baiterek's policy to support domestic producers
Under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, a meeting of the Board of Directors of Baiterek National Management Holding JSC was held. The meeting provided information on the fulfillment of the requirements of the Investment Policy for 2023, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The head of government noted that it is necessary to revise the Baiterek Procurement Rules as soon as possible in the direction of a radical increase in the share of domestic goods.
In addition, enterprises that receive state support must constantly increase domestic value.
Through Baiterek Holding and our other development institutions, we allocate large funds to support promising enterprises and sectors of the economy. If we provide support to an entrepreneur, he must take on obligations – to establish in Kazakhstan the production of the goods that he now imports, to increase labor productivity and the level of wages of employees, to attract Kazakh enterprises as subcontractors and suppliers," Olzhas Bektenov said.
The Prime Minister said that the Government is currently preparing a set of measures to increase the domestic value and develop domestic production.
