Kazakh President signs laws on ensuring protection of women's rights and the safety of children
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Ensuring the Rights of Women and Child Safety" and "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses on Ensuring the Rights of Women and the Safety of Children", El.kz reports.
Recall that the relevant instructions to toughen penalties for violence against women and children were voiced by the Head of State in his messages to the people of Kazakhstan dated March 16, 2022 and September 1, 2023.
The adopted amendments were widely discussed with the public. Representatives of non-governmental organizations, the National Kurultai under the President, the National Commission for Women, Family and Demographic Policy under the President, the National Centre for Human Rights and the Ombudsman for Children's Rights took part in the meetings of the chambers of Parliament.
