Kazakh President opened Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi'an

“We had very substantive talks with President Xi Jinping. A joint statement and other important documents were signed. This visit opened a new "golden 30th anniversary" of Kazakh-Chinese cooperation and has the particular importance. Today, another significant event in the history of cooperation between our countries is taking place - the opening of the Consulate General in Xi'an. Xi'an is an important point of the "One Belt, One Road" economic project. Close ties have been established between Kazakhstan and Shaanxi Province and Xi'an. Agreements were signed on the establishment of twinning relations with the North Kazakhstan region and the city of Shymkent, which will contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries. The opening of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Xi'an will give a new impetus to the development of our cooperation," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
The President signed a decree on the establishment of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in a large industrial, historical and cultural region of the People's Republic of China on November 5, 2022. In the building of the Consulate, along with the diplomatic corps, representative offices of national companies will also be located to promote the economic interests of Kazakhstan.
