Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov introduced the new leaders to the teams of the Ministries of Industry and Infrastructural Development, Environment and Natural Resources, Justice, Education, Culture and Sports, El.kz cites primeminister.kz.

Introducing Marat Karabayev to the staff of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, the Head of Government said that he has a great experience in the sphere of new technologies, industry and innovation development. He proved himself as a highly qualified specialist, able to mobilize the necessary resources to achieve the set goals.

"The Head of State has outlined important tasks in terms of stimulating the growth rates of manufacturing and production of high value added products, as well as the development of basic industries, logistics potential and transport infrastructure," Alikhan Smailov said.

He added that special attention should be given to developing the geological industry and attracting investment in the exploration and extraction of minerals.

Introducing Zulfiya Suleimenova to the staff of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Prime Minister stressed that the agency needs to intensify work to address long-standing environmental issues, including those related to the Aral Sea and Semipalatinsk region, as well as to achieve objectives in terms of water resource management and respect for nature and wildlife.

"It is necessary to achieve a gradual reduction of emissions of large enterprises and encourage them to introduce appropriate new technologies, as the health of our citizens directly depends on it," Alikhan Smailov said.

During the meeting with the staff of the Ministry of Justice, the Prime Minister said that the new head of the Ministry, Azamat Yeskarayev, and his staff need to ensure the development of by-laws on all the recently adopted laws and the proper inter-agency coordination in this matter.

In addition, he said, it is necessary to improve the quality of expert examination of normative legal acts, to interact more actively with the expert community in general and to continue work on the formation of a new legislative framework in the form of model laws.

"The President has set the objective of speeding up the decision-making process at all levels of government. Exactly this approach will allow promptly conducting necessary social and economic reforms," Smailov said.

Assigning priority tasks to Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev, the Prime Minister drew attention to the need for high-quality implementation of the "Comfortable School" national project, security of educational institutions, introduction of advanced teaching methods, and digitalisation of the sector.

At the same time, he said, it is necessary to continue the gradual development of the pre-school and extra-curricular education system.

"It is at the initial stages of education that the foundations of human capital and further development of our country as a whole are laid. The government pays much attention to education: teachers' salaries are increased, new schools and kindergartens are opened, and modern forms of education are introduced. We'll continue to review and make decisions on all problematic issues in the sector," Alikhan Smailov said, thanking former Minister Askhat Aimagambetov for his work.

Presenting the new Head of the Ministry of Culture and Sports Askhat Oralov, the Prime Minister said that among priority tasks of the Ministry are preservation and popularization of the historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, increasing the prestige of the country in the international arena and changing approaches to the development of sport.

"We need to focus on the development of mass sports and raise the level of training of the new generation of professional athletes. All necessary efforts should be made for this," Alikhan Smailov said.
