Kazakh PM discusses trade and economic cooperation with Head of Bashkortostan
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov met with Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation Radiy Khabirov, who arrived in Astana with a delegation, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Russia is one of Kazakhstan's main trade and economic partners. This is evidenced by the impressive volume of trade, which reached $27 bln in 2022 with a 10% growth. In the first 11 months of last year, mutual trade also showed good results and amounted to almost $24 bln.
"The Republic of Bashkortostan makes a significant contribution to the development of Kazakh-Russian trade relations. During the mentioned period, the trade turnover with our regions exceeded $350 mln, while we have great potential for further expansion of trade and economic ties," Alikhan Smailov said.
For his part, the Head of Bashkortostan expressed interest in further deepening industrial cooperation and developing trade relations.
"The economic cooperation of our enterprises is growing. I believe that in the coming years, our common task is to further increase trade. All the necessary prerequisites exist for that" Radiy Khabirov said.
