Kazakh Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and Eurasian Development Bank sign memorandum of cooperation
The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) have officially signed a memorandum of cooperation. First Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Bekniyaz and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the EDB Ruslan Dalenov consolidated this important step in the development of the water industry, El.kz reports.
The purpose of the agreement is to create long-term and mutually beneficial relations to attract investments and grants aimed at the implementation of key projects in the field of water resources both in Kazakhstan and throughout the Central Asian region.
Cooperation includes the financing of investment projects and the exchange of experience through participation in various events, such as seminars, conferences and business forums. The Ministry will inform the EDB about potential projects for co-financing and support their implementation. In return, the EDB will participate in the negotiations and consider the possibility of financing these initiatives.
First Vice Minister Bolat Bekniyaz emphasized the active cooperation of the Ministry with international organizations to attract investments and advanced technologies. EDB Deputy Chairman Ruslan Dalenov expressed hope for joint efforts to develop sustainable infrastructure solutions that contribute to water and food security in the region.
The EDB is already implementing the Central Asia Water and Energy Complex project, including analytical research and development of measures to save water and stimulate interstate cooperation in Central Asia.
