Kazakh Ministry of Culture to hold international festival of puppet theaters
From April 21 to April 29, the VI International Festival of Puppet Theaters "Orteke" will be held in Almaty with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event will be attended by the Republican State Academic Korean Theater of Musical Comedy, the State Puppet Theater of Almaty and the Total Theater, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the festival, the best productions of puppet theaters of Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey, Korea, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will be presented in competitive and non-competitive programs. The winners will be determined by an international jury represented by leading theatrical figures from Kazakhstan, Korea, Georgia and Turkey.
Admission to the festival is free. The event will also include master classes and a round table with the participation of leading actors and directors.
"The goals and objectives of the festival are to popularize puppet theaters, strengthen cultural ties with other countries, search for talented artists and directors and, of course, develop domestic theatrical art.
Such events allow our creators to express themselves, find a new audience and exchange experience with foreign colleagues," said Roza Karibzhanova, Chairman of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
