Kazakh MFA on upcoming visit of Anthony Blinken to Kazakhstan
On February 28, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will arrive in Kazakhstan on his first official visit. It is expected that he will take part in the ministerial meeting of the C5 + 1 format. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Aibek Smadiyarov spoke during a briefing about the upcoming visit of Antony Blinken, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of MFA.
According to the speaker, during his stay in Astana, the Secretary of State will be received by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and will hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi.
On the same day, Anthony Blinken will participate at the ministerial meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries of Central Asia and the United States in the C5 + 1 format. To date, all foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries have confirmed their participation.
"At the C5+1 Ministerial Meeting, it is planned to discuss issues of further development of cooperation between the Countries of Central Asia and the United States in the field of economy, energy and the environment, as well as the fight against terrorism," the foreign minister said.
According to Aibek Smadiyarov, today the C5+1 mechanism has established itself as an effective diplomatic platform that promotes regional cooperation in ensuring the multifaceted development of Central Asia.
