Kazakh-Latvian Consular Consultations took place in Riga
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia held consular consultations between the foreign policy departments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Latvia, under the leadership of the Director of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bauyrzhan Akatayev and Director General of the Consular and Diplomatic Facilities Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Jurijs Pogrebnaks, El.kz cites MFA.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Kazakhstan, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Guard and the Ministry of Welfare of Latvia.
During the consultations the sides discussed in detail the issues of visa facilitation by the European Union for the citizens of Kazakhstan, including the necessary further steps of Kazakhstan in this direction. Special attention was paid to the improvement of mechanisms for the protection of the rights of citizens of the two countries, including those engaged in labour activities.
At the end of the consultations, the parties confirmed their interest in continuing co-operation between the competent institutions of the two countries.
