The Government of Kazakhstan has allocated 3.8 billion tenge from its reserve fund to strengthen the country's veterinary service. The decision on the allocation of funds was signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, El.kz reports citing primeminister.kz.
The funding is aimed at modern equipment of veterinary laboratories, including the purchase of high-precision equipment, such as a liquid chromatograph. This analytical tool complies with international standards, guidelines and Codex Alimentarius requirements.
The use of a liquid chromatograph will make it possible to conduct more reliable veterinary studies, which will contribute to strengthening food safety in Kazakhstan. Such equipment is able to detect even the smallest traces of harmful substances in food, which will significantly improve the protection of public health from food-borne diseases.
In addition, the new equipment will allow domestic agricultural producers to meet strict international requirements, which is important for exporters supplying products to different countries of the world.
It will also increase Kazakhstan's ability to control products imported from other countries and will allow for a prompt response to any violations of veterinary standards, protecting the domestic market from the dangerous illnesses caused by animal.
The decision taken by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a significant step towards strengthening food security and protecting the health of the population of Kazakhstan.
