The event took place on December 5 at the University Cultural Space (ECU) as part of the “Rosario-Almaty: Sister Cities” project, commemorating the 33rd anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Irina Vagner, and Honorary Consul Gustavo Gutiérrez, who emphasized the importance of cultural exchange. A highlight of the event was a haute couture collection by Argentine designer Lola Montero, inspired by elements of Kazakh culture.

The centerpiece of the evening was the display of authentic traditional Kazakh costumes showcased in the exhibition hall. Ambassador Irina Vagner expressed her emotions: “We are delighted to present the ‘Treasures of the Great Steppe’ and to see how the beauty of our culture captivates our guests.”

Irina Vagner also extended her gratitude to Kazakh artist Dimash Qudaibergen, whom she described as a true cultural ambassador of Kazakhstan: “Thanks to him, invisible connections have been established between many people around the world.”

The exhibition, enhanced by the presence of the dombra, Kazakhstan’s national instrument, immersed visitors in the rich atmosphere of Kazakh culture. Musical and dance performances at the opening added to the celebration, linking Kazakh and Argentine traditions, including the iconic Argentine tango.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until December 12, offering Rosario residents a unique opportunity to explore Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage and strengthen the bonds between nations.
