Kazakh animated film receives Grand Prix at festival in Spain
The short animated film "Besik Zhyry", released with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, received the prize "Best Short Animated Film" at the prestigious film festival, which was held in the capital of Spain, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that a total of 1500 animated works were presented at the Madfa Madrid Film Awards-2023 competition. The Madrid MADFA Film Award (MFA) is included in the official competition of IMDb. The festival annually gathers the best works of talented directors from around the world.
"The fact that the Kazakh animated film received the Grand Prix of the prestigious international competition can be considered an indicator that the domestic animation industry is developing in the right direction. The Ministry of Culture and Sports plans to increase the share of Kazakhstani films in the total box office, including animated films, to 35% by 2030. For this purpose, at least 10 animation projects will be created annually.
Last year, for the first time in the country, the creative association "Kazakhanimation" was created. This organization will improve the skills of domestic animation specialists and provide support in the creation of animation projects," said Minister of Culture and Sports Askhat Oralov
