Kazakh actor Dias Kaldybekov from Astana has been cast as Angler The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, El.kz reports.
The actor announced it on his Instagram.
“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping 2026,” he wrote.
The movie also features Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons and Elle Fanning.
Who Is Dias Kaldybekov?
Born in Astana, Dias is graduated from the College of the Kazakh National University of Arts.
Kaldybekov is currently based in Berlin and works with the German talent agency MABO Agency. His previous credits include the short films Bitten Soon and Alien Husband.
What Is the Prequel About and When Will It Be Released?
Sunrise on the Reaping will be the sixth instalment in the film franchise and a screen adaptation of the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins.
The story is set 24 years before the events of Katniss Everdeen’s story. The central character is a young Haymitch Abernathy, who must compete in the arena during the Second Quarter Quell.
The film is scheduled for release in Kazakhstan on November,19. According to Lionsgate, its theatrical release in North America will begin one day later.
