Kassym-Jomart Tokayev meets with Prosecutor General

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Prosecutor General Berik Asylov to discuss issues related to law and order in the country, as well as to get acquainted with the activities of the supervisory body, El.kz reports.

Prosecutor General Asylov reported on the measures taken to return illegally acquired assets, including the creation of a specialized Committee. He noted that the Committee will use IT technologies and artificial intelligence to search for assets transferred abroad and uncover illegal schemes.

As part of improving the investment climate, priority measures developed by the Interdepartmental Commission with the participation of various public and private organizations were presented. The Prosecutor's Office has taken over 900 investment projects for monitoring, successfully resolving the issues of 41 investors.

To ensure the security of investments, it was proposed to introduce digital solutions that will monitor the processes of implementing investment projects in real time and coordinate key decisions with the prosecutor.

Tokayev was also informed about the reduction in the number of criminal prosecutions of entrepreneurs within the framework of the three-tier model by 29%, as well as a decrease in the number of violations of the constitutional rights of citizens.

The President was briefed on measures to combat torture, including the installation of video cameras in correctional facilities, which has led to a significant decrease in complaints of torture.

In addition, Asylov provided information on the investigation of criminal cases that caused a public outcry and on international cooperation, including the extradition of persons accused of serious crimes, and the conclusion of 73 treaties in the criminal law field with 34 countries.

President Tokayev stressed the need to strengthen the rule of law in all spheres of the country's life, expressing support for the measures and initiatives being taken.
