Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructs to urgently reconstruct houses destroyed due to natural disaster

The Head of State received Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev,  El.kz reports citing Akorda.

The President was informed about the results of work and plans in the fields of industrial development, geology, subsoil use and construction.

The minister noted that in January-February 2024, Kazakhstan's manufacturing industry grew by 7.4%, especially due to mechanical engineering, metallurgy, chemistry and light industry. It is planned to introduce 180 projects worth 1.5 trillion tenge, 17.8 thousand jobs will be created in the process of their implementation.

The Head of State was informed about the state of the construction industry: 157,000 residences were built last year, 172,000 are planned this year, and more than 300 billion tenge will be allocated for the construction of 22,000 rental apartments. A program with financing of 300 billion tenge will be launched through Otbasy Bank, which will provide citizens with 12 thousand mortgage loans.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the introduction of a digital platform E-Qazyna.kz for holding auctions for subsoil use rights in electronic format, which significantly increased their transparency and accessibility. The participation of major global companies, including Rio Tinto and Fortescue, in auctions indicates increasing competition for the opportunity to explore potentially resource-rich deposits in Kazakhstan.

The President was also briefed on the ministry's priority plans to help people affected by the floods. At the moment, the approval of the cost of design estimates for the construction of new housing in the regions in the emergency zone is being completed.
