Plans for the implementation of new investment projects of GE Healthcare in Kazakhstan were discussed by the Prime Minister of kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and the general director of the company in Russia and the CIS Elena Legezina, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Head of Government noted that a number of major program documents on the development of the healthcare sector are currently being implemented in the republic.

Within the framework of the national projects "Healthy Nation" and "Modernization of Rural Healthcare", it is planned to re-equip 32 district hospitals and build 655 new primary health care facilities.

By 2025, it is planned to increase the share of domestic pharmaceutical production to 50%, including popular medical equipment.

"Given the high reputation of GE Healthcare as one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical equipment, we support the implementation of new projects and are interested in deepening our partnership," the Prime Minister said.

In turn, Elena Legezina noted that the company sees great potential for the development of its activities in the republic. In particular, a project is currently being worked out to localize the production of ultrasound machines and computer tomographs in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"We can bring to Kazakhstan not only high-tech equipment, but also concepts, approaches to the treatment of oncological and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, we plan to open two academies - in Astana and Almaty, where Kazakhstani specialists will be able to learn not only how to work with equipment, but also to master new methods of treatment," said Elena Legezina.

GE Healthcare also plans to assist in the digitalization of the healthcare sector of the republic and develop the localization of the service of medical equipment.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to work out a framework agreement on cooperation, which will make it possible to specify and consolidate cooperation plans for the medium term.
