Interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Latvia in focus
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Latvia Dauren Karipov visited the large port city of Latvia – Liepaja,El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting with the chairman of the Liepaja city council (Mayor) Gunars Ansins, an exchange of views took place on ways to establish direct interregional cooperation, as well as using the potential of the Liepaja port for the transit of Kazakhstani cargo to the world market.
In addition, the Kazakh diplomat informed about the progress of political and economic reforms in Kazakhstan, focusing on measures to increase the investment attractiveness of the country, including in the manufacturing industry. In this regard, he proposed to consider the possibility of implementing a number of specific joint projects.
Gunars Ansins highly appreciated the business climate of Kazakhstan and emphasized the region’s interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan. He expressed his readiness to assist Kazakh businesses to operate in the region.
As part of the trip, the Ambassador visited the Liepaja port, industrial zones and a number of infrastructure facilities, including those with the participation of Kazakh capital.
