Internet speed increases by 21.5% in Kazakhstan
According to the Speedtest Global Index, in June 2022, in the ranking of countries by mobile Internet speed, Kazakhstan rose by 6 lines, and the figure increased over the month from 20.56 Mb/s to 22.53 Mb/s. Over the year, the speed increased immediately by 21.5%, El.kz reports with reference to Finprom.kz.
The Internet in Kazakhstan is faster than in Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and many other developing countries. At the same time, the leaders in the speed of the Internet in the world are Norway, the UAE, Bulgaria, South Korea and Qatar, the publication notes.
“At the same time, it is worth noting that the speed of mobile Internet in the country is growing in parallel with the increase in the consumption of Internet traffic. As we wrote earlier, in 2021, the consumption of Internet traffic within the Tele2/Altel network increased by 33%, to 1985 petabytes (or almost 2 exabytes) - this is a record value among all mobile operators. According to analysts, Tele2/Altel networks generate about 60% of the total consumption of the country's mobile Internet. Meanwhile, the growth of traffic consumption at Kcell amounted to 36.8%, to 620 petabytes. That is, the speed of the Internet in the country increases with the increase in the load on the epher, which indicates the development of the infrastructure of mobile operators, "the authors of the study indicate.
