International Council on Archives Notes Intensification of Cooperation with Kazakhstan
Permanent Delegate of Kazakhstan to UNESCO Askar Abdrakhmanov visited the Secretariat of the International Council on Archives (ICA), El.kz cites MFA.
With the ICA Executive Director Carlos Serrano Vazquez and Executive Coordinator Constance Vidon, he discussed participation of archival institutions of Kazakhstan in the Council’s activities and prospects of mutual support in holding international meetings and events in the field of archives.
Serrano Vazquez noted the trend of cooperation with Kazakhstan strengthening in recent years and shared positive impressions from his visit to Almaty in October 2022, where he participated in the I International Congress of Archivists “Open Archives for Open Societies.”
The exchange of views, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, laid a favorable foundation for further contacts between the Permanent Delegation and the ICA.
The International Council on Archives is an international non-governmental organization with its Secretariat in Paris that brings together public archival services, archival institutions of various forms of ownership and interested specialists in the field of archives.
