International Center for Industrial Cooperation created in Turkestan region
Today, under the chairmanship of the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev, a meeting was held on the creation of an international center for industrial cooperation (PSC). The meeting was attended by Deputy Akim of the Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov, deputy heads of departments involved in the project. At the meeting, the issue of assigning the status of "Industrial Zone" to the land plot of the future international center of industrial cooperation was considered, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the akim of the Turkestan region.
The purpose of the center is to jointly search for ways to develop the industry of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, increase competitiveness and innovative activity, provide favorable conditions for the development of exports, strengthen economic and investment ties, and create new jobs.
To create the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia", the akimat of the Turkestan region selected a land plot from the Kazakh-Uzbek border in the area of the Atameken customs post in the village of Atakent, Maktaaral district. The total area of the land plot is 100 hectares.
Deputy Akim of the region Nuralkhan Kusherov noted that the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on the regulation of the activities of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" was sent to the Uzbek side.
Earlier, an operational working group was created and organized in the region for the implementation of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia".
Conversations were held with investors on the implementation of protocol instructions, and issues were considered. Next week, work will begin on the development of the concept of an international center for industrial cooperation.
It is expected that the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" will implement projects related to the cotton cluster, enterprises for deep processing of fruits, a drip irrigation system and other industries.
