Inter-parliamentary cooperation between Kazakhstan and Algeria discussed in Senate
Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Zhakip Asanov met with the Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Kazakhstan Kamal Fenish, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Senate.
Opening the meeting, Zhakip Asanov thanked the diplomat for his successful work to strengthen cooperation between the countries and stressed that the Senate is now forming a friendship group with Algeria, designed to strengthen Kazakh-Algerian inter-parliamentary cooperation.
"Algeria is a reliable and constructive partner for Kazakhstan in the Maghreb countries and in the Arab world. In bilateral relations, the stage of formation has been successfully passed. We have moved to a qualitatively new level – we have to fill cooperation with practical content and search for new areas of interaction. We look forward to the intensification of relations between legislative bodies both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international platforms, such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the OIC Parliamentary Union. We expect that in the near future we will form new compositions of friendship groups. This will give impetus to our inter-parliamentary ties," Zhakip Asanov said.
During the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Senate acquainted the interlocutor with the implementation of political and economic reforms carried out in Kazakhstan at the initiative of the Head of State, stressing that the main priority in the work of the Parliament is their legislative support.
At the end of the conversation, the parties expressed confidence in the further development of the expanded partnership between Kazakhstan and Algeria in all areas of mutual interest.
