The investigator of the investigative department of the Nur-Sultan Police Department Talgat Aitjuman has been investigating serious crimes for 5 years, facing difficult fates, passing through the problems of people who find themselves in a difficult situation.

Talgat has a total work experience "in uniform" for 13 years. Having passed a stormy student time, Talgat thought about what he wanted to become. Fortunately, he did not have to think for a long time, his father influenced the choice of his future profession.

How the day begins

Every day is a step into the unknown. The guard does not know what will happen in a day. What crimes he will have to face, what trips to go. During the shift, up to a dozen messages can arrive, then he goes to the place of the incident for inspection and makes a decision in the future.

The collection of evidence at the scene of the incident is the basis for the investigation and further resolution of the criminal case. In the investigation of particularly serious crimes, a formal or template approach is unacceptable, Talgat notes.

"After all, in each case, the fate of a person is decided. An innocent person should not go to jail, and a criminal should not escape punishment. Working together with forensic experts and operatives, the investigator collects evidence bit by bit. Checks the results obtained, analyzes, tries to collect the maximum amount of important information within the first days after the crime," the investigator says.

There is a category of crimes for which specialized investigators with experience in this direction go. Such staff includes Talgat. Its specificity of work is the investigation of serious and especially serious crimes. There are two categories of investigators. The first are those who investigate minor crimes, they are called interrogators, and those employees who conduct investigations into serious and especially serious crimes are investigators. Until 2017, Talgat was among the interrogators. According to him, this is the same work as in the current position, only your responsibilities include moderately serious offences. As Talgat says from his work experience, as an interrogator, there were investigations claiming particularly serious crimes in their category, but in view of the law and generally accepted statutes, these crimes were recorded as medium.

At the time of our meeting with Talgat, there were no trips to the crime scenes, and even if this had happened, the investigator would not have been able to take us with him. This is what the charter says and the law requires.

Meanwhile, many ordinary citizens do not know even a small part of the specifics of the work of investigators.

"The work of an investigator really requires a great perseverance and good ingenuity. And as a rule, the investigator never works alone. There are also special cases when the case is conducted for a very long time. At such a moment, investigators really have to think like a criminal. Of the total time of the investigation, most of it goes to writing," Talgat said.

Family

The young wife of the investigator understands all the difficulties of the work and tries to support her husband. In turn, Talgat tries not to bring home negativity.

"The ability to switch and abstract are qualities that are developed over the years. At first, it's always hard to get the heavy thoughts out of your head about things that are in production.

Heartbroken people with whom I had to communicate during the investigation flash before our eyes every now and then. The specifics of the work leave their imprints," the investigator shared with us.

Only innate optimism, the ability to concentrate at the right time help Talgat to successfully complete deals and find time for the family.
