Kazakhstani citizens can now travel to Indonesia without obtaining a visa and stay in the country for up to 30 days, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Visa-free entry is provided free of charge; however, it is valid for a single entry only.

How long can Kazakhstani citizens stay in Indonesia without a visa?

The maximum period of stay is 30 days from the date of arrival. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that, in introducing the new regime, the Indonesian side was guided, among other considerations, by the principle of reciprocity.

Kazakhstan had previously allowed Indonesian citizens to enter the country without obtaining a visa for the same period. Accordingly, holders of the national passports of both countries can now benefit from a reciprocal visa-free travel regime.

Travellers should note, however, that the arrangement provides for a single entry. If a Kazakhstani citizen leaves Indonesia, the entry conditions applicable to the subsequent trip will apply.

What needs to be done before travelling?

The visa-free regime does not exempt travellers from other requirements imposed by the Indonesian authorities. Before travelling, Kazakhstani citizens must complete the unified electronic declaration All Indonesia.

This requirement has applied to passengers arriving from abroad since 1 October 2025. The declaration is free of charge and may be completed in advance of the trip.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also recommends checking the immigration and customs requirements of the destination country, the validity period of the passport, and transit regulations before travelling abroad. Travellers are advised to arrange medical insurance in advance and purchase air tickets through official channels.
