In 10 years, China sends 85,000 container trains to Europe
The Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan got acquainted with the transport and logistics infrastructure of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The Kazakh delegation headed by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev visited a number of transport infrastructure facilities of the city of Urumqi, including the International Dry Port, the Express Delivery Center (Jitu Express), the China-Europe Railway Express Hub and the office of the Xinjiang Trade and Logistics Corporation, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan
In addition, the head of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan took part in the ceremony of sending the jubilee 150th container train "Tianshan" on the route "PRC-EU".
At the ceremony, it was noted that over the 10 years of the formation of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative (since 2013), about 85 thousand container trains have been sent from China in the western direction, of which 80% passed through Kazakhstan.
During the visit to the above-mentioned facilities, the parties agreed on plans for organizing joint investment projects aimed at stimulating and improving the logistics infrastructure.
