Ice cream production in Kazakhstan reaches its maximum in 10 years
Ice cream production in Kazakhstan has reached its maximum in 10 years. In January-November 2023, the country produced 50.4 thousand tons of various types of ice cream and similar products, which is 27% more than a year earlier, El.kz reports with reference to the First Credit Bureau.
The bureau clarified that such a large volume for 11 months has not been recorded since at least 2013. In November alone, about 2.4 thousand tons were produced - again, the maximum for this month for the same period.
Judging by the available data for 10 months, our own production covers about 83% of our ice cream needs. At the same time, domestic sales, imports and exports of ice cream are growing at the same time.
In January-October, about 5.5 tons of products from the Republic of Kazakhstan went abroad, which is 16% more than in the same period in 2022.
This year, Kazakh ice cream even reached Japan, although in symbolic volumes - 35 kg for $241.
